At Makaia, we work to ensure that knowledge, technology, and cooperation become real tools for social transformation. Based on this conviction, We joined forces with the Cali Chamber of Commerce to bring to life Highlight, a program designed to support, strengthen, and promote non-profit organizations (ESAL) in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, promoting its institutional growth and long-term sustainability.
Highlight is an exclusive initiative created by the Cali Chamber of Commerce to provide social organizations with a space for training and comprehensive support. The program seeks to help each organization improve its internal management capacity, better structure its processes, and develop skills that will enable it to expand its impact on the communities with which it works. Throughout the process, organizations receive an initial assessment and a work plan tailored to their level of maturity, ensuring that the training is tailored to their real needs.
The program structure encompasses three components that are fundamental to institutional strengthening. The first is the Resource Mobilization, where organizations learn to understand the funding ecosystem, identify opportunities, design relationship strategies, and strengthen their institutional narrative. In this component, we also incorporate artificial intelligence tools for project formulation, and organizations receive free access to Nodoká, our platform specializing in the search for funding opportunities and the management of national and international calls for proposals.
The second component is the Digital Transformation, in which we help organizations assess their level of digital maturity, strengthen their strategic vision, develop an innovation-oriented organizational culture, and identify improvements in their operations, technological infrastructure, marketing, and communications. The training is based on practical methodologies and the principle of learning by doing, which ensures that each organization can translate knowledge into concrete actions within its daily operations.
The third component corresponds to the legal and administrative strengthening, developed in partnership with Probono, in which organizations receive guidance on regulatory compliance, formalization, corporate governance, and administrative practices that ensure transparency and sustainability. This approach provides ESALs with a more solid foundation to establish themselves as reliable actors who are prepared to form strategic alliances.
The impact we seek with Highlight It is clear: to contribute to strengthening the social fabric of Valle del Cauca through more robust, modern, and sustainable organizations. Through this program, we aspire for more entities to access resources, present more robust projects, modernize their internal processes, adopt digital tools, and reinforce their institutional confidence with partners and funders. Our goal is for these capabilities to translate into an expansion of the social impact that each organization generates in its territories.
For Makaia, executing Resaltar means advancing our commitment to supporting organizations that work for the development and well-being of their communities. We firmly believe that when we strengthen those who transform realities, we multiply the possibilities for development in the region. Valle del Cauca is a territory with a dynamic social ecosystem, and this program is an opportunity to enhance its leadership, innovation, and capacity for impact.
