CREDIBLE is an initiative that strengthens the capacity of young people in Colombia to confront misinformation and become resilient, critical leaders capable of creating quality narratives that contribute to their communities.
The project develops skills in media and digital literacy, leadership, content creation, and strategic use of technologies such as artificial intelligence to understand, identify, and counter misinformation.
Its purpose is to enable every young person to make informed decisions, exercise active digital citizenship, and become an agent of change in their community.
How does CREDIBLE work?
The project is developed through educational experiences and co-creation spaces that strengthen young people's critical thinking and communication skills.
It includes virtual and in-person boot camps, specialized workshops, and innovation labs where participants analyze the challenges of the information ecosystem, develop digital skills, and produce content and technological solutions aimed at combating misinformation. Local initiatives that seek to transform narratives and generate a direct impact on communities are also supported.
Three boot camps were held:
Youth Leadership Bootcamp: Sixty young people participated in a training process consisting of six modules and 14 CREDIBLE patches. This space strengthened their capacity for critical analysis of manipulated information and left 51 leaders prepared to promote responsible digital citizenship. In addition, 16 advocacy initiatives were funded, benefiting 1,451 people directly and more than 9,000 indirectly.
Accelerator bootcamp for communicators, journalists, and influencers: 26 young people strengthened their skills in creating quality content.
Three communication projects were funded, focused on improving access to reliable information on social issues in their communities.
Artificial Intelligence Laboratory: 64 participants developed AI-based solutions to detect and analyze manipulated information. It was an intensive seven-month process with practical exercises and specialized technical support.
